Book Reviews

Holy crow, who said reviewing a book was easy? Oh, was that me, well I take it back. It’s not easy. I’ve been struggling since yesterday trying to come up with some good reviews for a few books so I can send the clips as samples for a writing gig I’m applying for.  The first one I wrote read like a book report. The second was about the same.  Getting frustrated here! Just tell me what the book is about and if it’s good or not but don’t give away too much or I won’t read the book because everything I want to know is in these two paragraphs. ARGH!

I decided to do some research and read some different reviews for books I’ve read.  After reading a few of them I started to wonder if I had read the same freaking book. Some of the reviews are way to analytical for me. I just want to know if it was a good story. Would I like the characters? Is the story line easy to follow or are the three thousand charaters involved.  This is turning out to be a way more difficult task than I originally thought it would be.

My solution: Start fresh…Tempted the sixth book in the House of Night series is out today so I’m trotting off to the store to buy it, read it and then review it.  No book reports. I’m gonna call it like I see it.  How hard can it be? I think I’ve heard that before!
