Test Marketing Writing using Fanfiction

It’s Friday. It’s freaking cold here and I still haven’t finished rewriting my query. I’m blaming it on the weather. We blame a lot of things on the weather so I’m using it as an excuse for my unfinished query. It’s too cold to think about it.

Liar, you’ve been writing fanfiction again. Shhh. Don’t tell anyone. It’s just…it’s so…addictive and well, I want to see how many people I can get to read the stories. I’m practicing promoting myself. I’m test marketing my writing. I know they are not my characters but I’m creating a different world for them to exist in. I keep telling myself that even though I’m borrowing characters, it’s still my writing. It’s still my style. So, if people read my fanfiction, that means they must like how I write. Right? Just answer right, because I’m walking a fine line of sanity today.

The best thing is I can write how I want. The comma police haven’t swooped down on me. I can be as smutty as I want meaning there are lots of lemons in my stories. Lemons, what a way to describe sexy porno writing. It’s another writing exercise. I read a lot of young adult novels and there’s a whole lot of “fade to black” scenes. Sorta drives a person nuts. Fanfiction fills the void of those fade to black moments.

Oh, and I don’t have to put an asterick in place of the U when I write f*ck. I control everything. When I write, what I write, when I post and if I post. I am the storyteller, the editor, the promoter, the business manager. I wear all the hats. I control EVERYTHING! That’s it!!! That’s why I like fanfiction. I’m the f*cking boss and I control my kingdom. BAHAHAHA ~ Shit, the secret is out, I’m a control freak!

Curious about the world of fanfiction. Check it out. My writing is rated M for Mature audiences only. You have been warned.
